How to Learn Astrology; The Great Conjunction of Saturn & Jupiter and more
A new normal seem to have established in the World as we continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. We have learnt to live with the new reality and fortunately normalcy is returning very fast. The word of caution, however, is that we should not lower our guards against the deadly virus. No matter what, humanity will always win but let’s make efforts to minimize the damage.
In this issue, we discuss a major celestial event. I would call it a celestial celebration as the phenomenon is not so common. The Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn is happening on 21st December 2021. The World witnessed such a conjunction about four centuries ago. The conjunction is going to impact all of us in different ways depending on our horoscopes. But let’s hope we all benefit out of this celestial event by listening to the Shani Gayatri.
In the Astro-nuggets section, we discuss a question from one of the esteemed reader about an astrology centre charging high fee to teach astrology. As more and more people are interested in learning Astrology, several of such astrology schools have cropped up charging exorbitant money from people. Learning Astrology does not require investing huge amount of money. There are standard basic books that one has to meticulously read and apply on various horoscopes. And that’s what our monthly article is about- HOW TO LEARN ASTROLOGY.
As this newsletter Astro-Jagriti enters its fourth issue, I hope readers would continue to shower love and blessings on RationalAstro and help improving the newsletter further.
There are two major celestial events happening in December-2020:
1. The Great Conjunction of Jupiter-Saturn:
This Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn will happen on Winter Solstice, December-21st 2020 on Shukla Ashtami. I am not aware of any astrological explanation as to why this conjunction is happening on Winter Solstice. May be it’s just a coincidence.
The GREAT CONJUNCTION is something very significant as it is happening after 59 years. Interestingly, this conjunction involves very close Jupiter and Saturn who will be just 0.06 degrees apart. This has last happened in 1623 AD. Both Jupiter and Saturn don’t move fast in the sky. Jupiter takes about 12 years and Saturn takes about 30 years to move through the zodiac. Importantly, Saturn is in its own house Capricorn making it powerful and influential. Almost all of us will get impacted depending upon our natal chart. Especially those, who are running Sade-Sati (seven and a half period of Saturn) will be significantly impacted.
If we see horoscope of India, the conjunction is happening in the 9th house of fortune and dharma. For Indians, in general, the time is auspicious for religious and spiritual activities.
2. Total Solar Eclipse: 14-December-2020 over South America:
This event is important for people in the South American region. Solar Eclipses times have a huge variation from place to place. From Astrological point of view, Solar Eclipses are considered important from a local level. People living in South American countries especially Chile or traveling in that region around this time would be astrologically affected by this Solar Eclipse. However, in India there is no astrological significance for this eclipse.
If we dream something and have the tenacity and capacity to work towards achieving it, our mind starts harnessing planetary energies in a way that fulfills our efforts.
An esteemed reader sent me the below noted question. I have edited the message to preserve identity of the Institute mentioned therein.
I always wanted to pick-up Astrology but was waiting to settle in my career. Now that I have, I contacted xxxxxxx society, who claim to be one of the finest institutions in the field of Astrology. However, they are charging Rs. 750/- per two hour class for a course of two years (classes will be on weekends only). I just wanted to confirm whether this is a generally acceptable rate for learning Astrology?
Learning Astrology should not be so expensive, especially when there are wonderful resources freely available. Astrology learning has to be life-long. It’s a long term project. One can only pick few basics in two years time frame.
I would advise not to spend so much money. I have listed down essential books and resources in this month’s article- How to learn Astrology? The online resources are free. The books are highly affordable and widely available. Please commit yourself in these resources for few years and you would realize that slowly and gradually, you are picking up Astrology.
But please do remember that learning Astrology is a journey, not a destination. This journey has no destination. There can never be a learned person in Astrology as it is impossible to go through the knowledge accumulated over five thousand years in just one life. So, keep learning and be a student of Astrology for life.
In this month of ‘The Great Conjunction”, let’s listen in to the spiritually powerful Shani Gayatri/शनि गायत्री and spread positivity in the environment. The mantra takes only 10 seconds but the sound intonations reverberates and purifies our mind and the environment for hours.
