The Importance of Mata Baglamukhi as one of the Mahavidyas 🌞
Mata Baglamukhi is one among the das mahavidya (Ten Mahavidyas). The Mahavidyas has very auspicious place in Indian Vedic tradition. It is said that Lord Vishnu arose from them. Maharshi Parasara explains this concept in the Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra. He tells Rishi Maitreya that Vishnu authored the Universe. And HE sustains it with one-quarter of energy. Vishnu incarnates as Planets that has both Jeevatmamsa and Paramatmamsa portions. Jeevatmamsa means the element of Jeeva or the human. Parmatmamsa means the element of God or the almighty. Human beings are nothing but the Jeevatmamsa part of the planets. They suffer on Earth based on their Karmas (debt due to actions). Lord Vishnu bestows these karmas on them by assuming the form of Janardana. After their sufferings, the humans merge again with the Planets. At the time of Great Destruction, these planets will then merge in Vishnu.

The auspicious day of Baglamukhi Jayanti in 2023 will be celebrated in India on 28th April. Each year, Baglamukhi Jayanti is celebrated on the Vaishakh Shukla Ashtami. This is the eighth day of the bright half in Vaishakh month).
How does Baglamukhi Mata protects us from evil? 🌞
From the perspective of planets, we take ‘evil’ as the kroora planetary dashas. Kroora means cruel. The cruel planetary periods bestows great sufferings on us. We often assume that we suffer because of the evil in others. We never think of the evil inside us.
Every source – books, internet etc considers this 'evil' as something that is in the other person. They prescribe Baglamukhi mantra to paralyze our enemies, their tongue, feet and actions. This is a very simplistic way of looking at the divine power of Mata Baglamukhi. From the spiritual perspective, all evil is inside us. The outside world including its evils are only creations of our mind. If we seek freedom from evil, we need to look inside and break the ignorance within. Unless we do this, it is not possible to get rid of the perceived 'evil' outside from us.
The significance of Baglamukhi Mantras from the perspective of Astro-Spirituality 🌞
From the perspective of Astro-Spirituality, the powerful Baglamukhi mantras remove our inner ignorance. It purifies our inner conscience. Once that happens, we do not feel the evil outside. This may sound a very different interpretation. But from an Astro-Spiritual context, this makes much sense.
All Sadhana is within. There are no enemies, no evils outside for the one who is pure sadhu. As we keep purifying ourselves and allow the inner sadhu to manifest, we will feel free from all evils. This is what exactly listening to or chanting the Baglamukhi mantra does to us. It helps us remove our inner ignorance. Mother Baglamukhi annihilates the Shad-ripus (six evils within us) whose only agenda is to make us suffer.
