Saraswati Mantra is recited to invoke Goddess Saraswati. It is said that if it is chanted before chanting of any other Vedic Mantra, it takes care of the effects of pronunciation errors.

सरस्वती मंत्र का पाठ, देवी सरस्वती का आह्वान करने के लिए किया जाता है। कहा जाता है कि यदि किसी अन्य वैदिक मंत्र के जाप से पहले इसका जप किया जाए, तो उच्चारण की त्रुटियों का कोई प्रभाव नहीं पड़ता है।

The underlying meaning of this Mantra is that we pay respects to Goddess Saraswati, who gives us intelligence and knowledge. Without the mother Sharda, we would not be able to develop our potential. We pray that the blessings of Goddess Sharda always remain on us.
