Types of so-called Mangliks - Is it all negative news for them?
No. In fact, the so-called Mangliks can be very dynamic and blessed with good material success
Please note the word “So-Called Mangliks”. Why I term this as “So-called”?
In Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra, Maharshi Parasara speaks of so-called Mangal Dosh in Sloka 47, 48 & 49 of Chapter-80. According to this, presence of planet Mars in one of the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th houses in a horoscope is not auspicious for spouse of the person. Several Astrologers prefer to include the 2nd house also for the purpose. We call such persons with Mangal or Mars in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th houses as ‘Mangliks’ whereas no such term is used by Maharshi Parasara. Neither the term ‘Mangal Dosh’ exist in any classical scriptures.
We have discussed earlier that despite Mars being in one of these six houses, a person may not be Manglik.
लग्ने व्यये सुखे वापि, सप्तमे वा अष्टमे
शुभदृग् योग हीने च, पतिं हन्ति न संशय: (BPHS, Chapter- 80, Sloka-47)
This sloka while mentioning adverse affects of Mars in 1st, 12th, 4th, 7th & 8th house also give exceptions. In most of the horoscopes, one or more of several cancellation factors apply. These exceptions cancel Mangal Dosh. To understand the concept of Manglik, please read-
